Klibnoff Returns: Advice from the past to students of the future

University of Georgia Professional in Residence Hank Klibnoff spoke Monday to a group of faculty, staff, and students about the journalism models and practices of the past, and how they will translate to the future.

Klibnoff, a veteran journalist and Pulizter-Prize-winning author, acknowledged that young journalists today are suffering from a two-faced dilemma. The downward turn of print media, especially newspapers, and the suffering economy.

Klibnoff still remained certain that the broad range of information, knowledge, and opportunities that the journalism students of today experience will help prepare them for the future success and models that will appear in newspaper offices.

Giving advice to the students in the audience, Klibnoff stressed the importance of embracing and following your curiosity, not being afraid of hard work, and staying true to the core values of journalism and what it takes to be a high achieving journalist.
